Chadwell Supply Remembers a True Original
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the death of Shawn Scheffsky, Chadwell Supply Territory Sales Manager in Tampa, Florida.
After many years with Century Maintenance, Shawn connected with Chadwell Supply in January 2009, joining that special group who were the first salespeople to introduce the Chadwell Supply Difference to our multifamily customers. Shawn brought his signature wit, competitive energy, industry knowledge, and hard-won wisdom to everything he did, and that led to tremendous success.
“Shawn believed we were the best, and he was not shy about letting you know,” says Matt Neil, Chadwell Supply Regional Sales Manager in Tampa. “He genuinely loved his customers, and he wanted the best for them—the best service, the best products, the best experience…”
“Shawn was a great relationship builder…” says Curtis Kyle, Chadwell Supply Vice President of Sales in Tampa. “Wherever he was, whatever he was doing, he was there to make a difference—and he did!”
Cecilia Wagner, TSM Miami, says Shawn made an indelible impact in her life and career. “I met Shawn at a volleyball tournament. He immediately stood out. He was hilarious, and also the kind of person everyone respected and enjoyed being around. That day gave me my first real glimpse of what Chadwell Supply was all about—not just another company, but a family. Shawn also showed me what this job could be, that you could work hard, taking care of people, and have fun doing it. Seeing his balance of hustle, humor, and heart made me want to be on his team.”
“You always knew where you stood with Shawn.” Matt adds. “If he thought something wasn’t right for a customer, or something could be improved, he was on top of it. His customers knew Shawn was someone they could count on and that trust reflected in those relationships.”
Mark Chadwell, Chadwell Supply Managing Partner, remembers the level of excellence Shawn brought to everything he did. “Professionalism and customer care were always front and center with Shawn. He was well-known and highly respected, exemplifying our core values, and earning multiple company and industry awards during his 18-year career here.”
An athlete who thrived on competition, Shawn was a talented kickboxer and an avid volleyball player. From the beginning of his career, he played in every association beach volleyball tournament he could, bringing home countless trophies.
Shawn also loved the outdoors, especially skiing, but his true passion was for his family: His wife, Terry, daughter, Haylee, and sons, Zach and Hunter.
Mark recalls the sense of humor, tireless energy, and genuine heart he invested in everything. “That is who Shawn was, and those qualities made him someone people naturally gravitated toward… Shawn will be deeply missed—not only as a remarkable teammate, but as a great friend—one of the first and a true original.”
